Not sure if it will be this weekend or next, but I have an engagement session in Indy I need to do. I'm wondering where would be decent indoor locations, that won't kick us out. smile.gif

I was thinking downtown, union station (or whatever it's called with the hotel..), is that still open? I hope?

The botanical gardens, shot one there before..

But beyond that, I'm stuck. If it's cold we aren't going to be spending a lot of time outside.. so suggestions would be appreciated!

The Indianapolis museum of art has a lot of great spots inside and out! I haven't been to Indy for a long time but...when I do go back for a visit, I plan on going to the museum for some photo opps!

If you ask in advance, many malls will let you shoot indoors in their public areas. I shot at the Fashion Mall, and it was no problem at all.

Circle City Mall, Art Museums, The Zoo, The Canal, RCA Dome, Monument Circle are just a few....

Leann,

Call any venue you're thinking of using.

The IMA, (art museum) requires a professional photography fee to photograph on their grounds, as well as a signed wavier about not using art work in your images. You do not want to get on their bad list.

also, they are extremely strick about use of flash indoors. The uv from the light can really add up over time and damage the very expensive artwork.

White River Gardens, and the Conservatory at Garfield Park both have a professional shoot fee. I think its a minimum of $75 per use.

Some of the more pulic (non-admission charging) venues will probably chase you out if you look "professional" but if you look like tourists taking fun pics, you may be able to sneak around under the radar. Circle Center mall has some interesting corners and spots.

Or tell them to just put on their coats, and head outside.

Troy you are right about the $75 fee to shoot at the gardens or conservatory. Technically any IndyPark actually but I've never been kicked out of a park.
Personally I always do these outside so I don't have to worry about getting permision or getting kicked out.

I agree. Never had to pay a fee or have gotten kicked out.
