We are looking to use Asuka or another book company and are wondering what's the best way to price them?
We are using them for portraits...like a baby book for example.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how they determined their price?
Thanks!

You would probably determine it by first how much it is going to cost you to get the book made. Then how long it took you to design the book and what ever that time is worth to you add that to how much it cost to make the book.
Or you could just price it how ever you want, I think it is really up too you on how much you think it is worth.
Hope this helps

I factor cost + how long it takes me to design, create, and order them (+ 3 hours for potential revisions) @ $100-150 per hour + approximately $5-15 per image used in the book. My Asuka books range from $800-2000 for a 10x10. The $800 books are pre-designed templates that are used for portrait sessions only, wedding books start at $1200 for a 20 page.

Jackie,
I would make sure you factor in your time and a value for each image. I have seen some people not charge much for them, because they are inexpensive compared to other albums. But the way I look at it, it souldn't cost that much less because the part you need to be paid for stays the same as other albums.... time and images.
On a side note I'll be going to your seminar at PPWM this month! See you there.

I use them as my low budget option. When you charge for them you should take under consideration amount of images and album design. I think that the fair price should be around $800 for 20 page, 40 images, hard cover, and 10x10 inch. I do not advertise them as low-end albums as their images quality often surpass high-end albums.
