Duuuumb question. This will expose the green behind my ears for sure!

I am buying a flash bracket - http://cgi.ebay.com/Flash-Bracket-Grip-Nik...1QQcmdZViewItem

my question is simple - how will my flash connect with the flash when using a flash bracket? Supiud question, huh?

I appreciate anyone with true humility that will condescend down to my level and help me through this learning curve.

There must be a wire or something, right???

The bracket simply supports your flash. Your flash will connect to the camera through a cable (always sold seperately). The expense will depend on if you are a Canon or Nikon user.

The Canon off shoe cable is around $40.00 to $50.00 as I recall.

Edit: Ah - $49.99 at B&H:

Not a problem. I would suggest that B&H's advice (listed in the feature section of the product description) is valid:

If you will be attaching and detaching the Off Camera Shoe Cord 2 from a flash bracket upon a regular basis, it is advised to avoid wear upon the bottom by purchasing the optional Bogen 3298 adapter to act as a 'sacrificial foot' for the slightly delicate bottom of the Off Camera Shoe Cord 2 itself.

Well worth the $8.00 to help protect your $380.00 580EX... smile.gif

The Off Camera cord for Canon also has a standard screw hole on the bottom of it that you can use to permanently attach to your flash bracket if you so wish.
