It's cold here so I've been trying to work on my studio lighting. I recently read somewhere (cold=part time memory loss for me) about feathering the light. The vertical pic of her is where I tried that. Does it look like feathering? I used a softbox to the camera left & a gold reflector to the right. ISO 100, f11, ss 160 Any comments &/or advice much appreciated.

Feathering just means using the edge of coverage of the light source rather than the center - to get more even light. Sometimes you want to do that and sometimes you don't. Traditionally a vignette effect is done with a light source that has a bright center and falls off softly, but quite quickly at the edges.
And the only thing I could say about the shots is that the light source and/or reflector is too far to the side of the subject, which is why you are getting that shadow in her dimple in the closeup and next to her nose in the vertical. In fact, if you put your reflector as much in front of your subject as possible, rather than to the side, the light wraps around in a much more natural way. (One side-effect of feathering is that it also lets you get more light on your reflector for techniques like that.)
