I was wondering if anyone knew how to take audio off my tv/tivo and make an mp3 that I can transfer to my ipod. There are some live music that I would like to listen to. Do I need software to do this? I wanted to hook up my laptop somehow and get this info.

You'll most likely use the audio in jack (if your laptop has one) and any software that lets you record from your sound card, like
http://www.supermp3recorder.com/. You'll need the right adapter (from RadioShack) to connect the stereo cables to the input jack.
I think there are some free ones too.
