I just wanted to thank everyone for posting such wonderful messages to one another! You all DEFINE encouragement and inspiration...
I am originally from New York, moved to Hawaii for four years and now am residing in Alabama where my husband (Chris) is attending flight school at Fort Rucker. Yes, he drags me all over the place and I must say, I quite enjoy it!!
David, you are absolutely hilarious! Something you said in the Pictage forum made me look you up and come over here! I was seriously chuckling for a full minute..
Talk to y'all soon! (did I spell "y'all" correctly?)

Hi, Katherine!
I was JUST going to write you - as I see your cute little face popping up everywhere!
I must clarify - you are the authentic Hawaiian! I only lived there for 4-5 glorious years (we are looking to return after Chris finishes flight school). But yes, I know the Aiea area - we were going to live around there but decided to settle in Kapolei.
Louisiana is not too far from here - hopefully, we could get together. We are dying to go back to New Orleans when he gets a break!
It really is a small world!

Hey girl!
So how do you like the south? A total culture shock huh? Oh you must take a break soon and meet in New Orleans. We had a baby 4 years ago and we had to live there cuz he stayed in Tulane for a while. So I know the area pretty well! Lotsa ono food! Let's do lunch and shop and stuff! Do you like antiques? Filipino food? Any other hobbies?
I know about the baby fever syndrome thingy. Everyone here is practically wondering why it's taking us sooo long to have another one. My husband complains because he does most of the work!
Until then...HAPPY BABY MAKIN'

Hey Tamalyn,
What type of plane is your husband in flight school for? My sisters husband is in Columbus, Miss for flight school. At one point he was hoping to get a slot with the Montgomery unit. Are ya'll near Montgomery?

Hey Katherine!
Actually, I've always been a southern girl at heart! You wouldn't believe how much I got made fun of back in high school for listening to country music. Now, mind you - this was back in the early nineties (before country was cool) ...and in New York/New Jersey.
My motto has always been "I'm going to do damn well what I please anytime anywhere, so there!"
I would LOVE to eat and shop (I love antiques) - although I always prefer eating than shopping.
Happy baby making? YES, indeed!

Hi, Leanne/Kerie!
Yes, the flight school (Army Aviation) is near Montgomery - about an hour south from it. They have this amazing museum with all these aircrafts from all decades.
Getting this slot was a definite (and long awaited) gift from God. The chance of getting in was so slim and there were so many obstacles for us that we were shocked when he did.
They even pulled him out of Afghanistan early so that he could get started right away. When God has a plan for you, and He is ready to put it into action, He doesn't waste any time!!

Tam --- Just got a chance to check out your site and I must say you've got some great photos! My name is Gregg and I am from Colorado (well actually just moved here... I'm a native Californian) I actually am not really a wedding photographer, I do more portrait and gallery work, but I am looking at breaking into weddings.
I actually am shooting my third wedding in May and I am excited and a little scared

.
But I know it will be great to have you here.

Welcome Tamalyn! I've got an affinity for 'Bama as my mom lived there for a bit (Birmingham), one of my favorite authors (Walker Percy) spent a ton of time there and well, MLK's the man.
Also, my wife's name is Tamara ... so that totally raises your stock in my book.
Glad you've joined in!!

Hey Gregg - I hear Colorado is an awesome place to live! I have a friend who lives in Denver and just loves it. She's lived everywhere - NY, DC, AZ, etc. but loves CO the best.
Chris and I are thinking about planning a trip to either CO or VT later this winter to ski. You must tell me how it is over there after you've settled some more.
Can't wait to see of your images from the May wedding!

Thanks, Dane! Glad to be here - really glad. And 'Bama is great. It's funny you say that word - last night, my sister calls me in the middle of the night and asks me in that not-so-authentic-sounding southern accent to ask me how I'ma likin' here in 'Bama.
Now everytime my friends (from NYC) call me they all sport the southern accent and ask me how my cows are doing. I regret the day I told them that I live next to this huge field with about a 100 cows.
Well, I have to say, everyone here is REALLY nice. They bend over backwards to help you. They are incredibly warm hearted and giving..and so accepting (just like this forum!). And I just love it that every other building here is a church! Never saw so many churches in my life!
Walker Percy - which is your favorite title? I'll pick it up for my latest reading.
Say *hello* to Tamara for me! GREAT name.

PS...Tam..again I'm sooo glad that you've joined our forum! It's funny how we both lived in hawaii and now we're here in the south. Did you ever hear of Russel Tanoue in Hawaii? this is his ...
website. When i first started doing photography...I just really loved his style. But I prefer to do more weddings now.

His name is definitely well known in the islands. I think one of my brides used him for a shoot. Do you think he can make me look sexy like that? You know - to spice up the baby making process.
Btw, when I say that, why does the image of Austin Powers as the Fat Bastard pop into my head?

Tamalyn,
That is so funny that your parents live here in ATL. Gosh it is such a small world. My grandparents are in Montgomery so I spend a good bit of time in Monkey town. Sometimes I feel like I am doing laps up and down that part of highway 85.
Great images of the plane. And believe me I understand what an awesome opportunity it is for him to be in flight school. Lance (my sister husband) fought like crazy for a slot until he got one. He will be flying f-16, I think.
