Full Version: lab for Cypress digital pages

Cypress albums now offers albums with digitally printed pages, however you have to have the printing done yourself on a specific watercolor-like paper (I think the brand of paper is Hahnemuhle).

I saw a sample of this type of album at last year's WPPI and it was absolutely beautiful! However, I can't seem to find a lab that prints on that specific type of paper. Well actually I did find one lab, but the cost to print was $20 per side and that was even with me supplying them the paper - yikes!

Has anyone found a lab that is reasonable? I'm not willing to print the pages on my home printer - even if I had a good one I wouldn't feel right about printing anyone's expensive family heirloom on a home inkjet. I spoke with Cypress about this - they couldn't recommend a lab, but they did say that they're thinking of looking into doing this printing in house in the future (but it sounded iffy and I don't want to hold my breath for that).

Does anyone have a solution?

Thanks for the printer recco!

Do you sell a lot of those digital Cypress albums? I'm not sure I want to spend $1500 for a printer when I'm not sure how those albums will sell.

Kristen,

Call this place. I know they do fine art prints on that specific type of paper. I don't know their costs though. It's worth a try. Talk to Caroline Ulbrich.
