Hi everyone,

I'm trying to make my mark in the Senior Portrait area and have been portfolio building since last August. I recently did a practive session with my daughter and 3 of her friends. Thought I'd share a few here.. Thanks for looking and CC welcome!!

Nice work Monica...hard to find any flaws...nice composition, great light (what's the deal...do they all have to have blue eyes to be friends? j/k).

About the only suggestion I can come up with would be on the first one...(assuming this one is your daughter...ya' know...put your kids first...), in that exact pose have her move her elbow out slightly...it feels slightly un-natural but it's more flattering to the arm (for example contrast that shot to # 4...even having the hands inside the arm pushes the arm out enough to give the arm a more toned look to it).

Hope this helps... smile.gif

Oh, BTW, welcome to OSP! hug.gif

Thanks Daniel! I appreciate the feedback. I agree, her arm should have been positioned differently for a more appealing pose. smile.gif

She is actually my daughter's best friend. My daughter is the dark hair brown eyed beauty in the group shots.

Here's a close up of her...

Nice work. I like the lighting on #2 & 3.

Monica, those are excellent. I especially love #2 and your advertising piece with your daughter. Your lighting is exquisite, I'd love to get some hints as to your set up.

You should have seniors knocking down your doors if you can get these images in front of them.

Thanks everyone for the comments! I appreciate the compliments!

Mike,

I shot these all strictly natural light. It was about 5pm and these were taken in an alley that has this awesome graffitti wall. I timed it to do the session about an hour before sunset. I was really pleased with how they turned out.

Wow, that's terrific! Even the catchlights are perfect. You should be very pleased with these images. Hopefully your daughters friends show them off. smile.gif
