Hi Chad,

I think you're getting some nice moments. Any chance you can up your ISO or use a fast lens (2.8), turn on some more lights so that you don't have to use your flash? I think you may get some softer images that you'll really love.

Most of these were taken within 1 month of getting the new camera and a couple, within days. I have started messing with the ISO...I get nervous over 400, but am experimenting at 800 and 1600.

I will typically set the apeture at 2.8 - I have the Tamron 17-50. I think I need to zoom in more and move back from here a bit, so my DOF increases. It is a learning process...she is so quick, so I have to watch my shutter speed

These were taken mostly with the on-board flash. I now have a LightSphere, which I think will help to soften images when I must use flash.

Thanks for the thoughts! I want to get better.

I'm anal about using my on camera flash with my 20D. I pretty much refuse to use it. And I don't have any other type of flash so that limits me. I have a couple of windows in the house that make for some very good natural light...shaded...not direct sunlight...that I use A LOT with my toddlers.

Window light is a great suggestion. Look for light everywhere you can. Place her in it and then let her play. Just keep practicing with your camera and everything will become second nature. Have fun with it! smile.gif
