Just trying to make myself feel better I don't have a 5d or a mac or ...I can go on and on...

CC welcomed.

Nice shots...

But don't feel bad. Lots of pro's don't have 5D's, or 1d's

I use a 30D, and so does Scarlet, and so do many others. 30D is a super camera.
As for the mac thing.... weeellll a PC will still make just as good of photo's... Just get a mac as soon as possible laughing.gif

Ain't nothing wrong with a 30D. I'm very pleased with it and many pros use it as well. I'm digging the Beatles "Apple" shirt on the baby smile.gif
Aaron
Isn't that shirt great? I think Mac just had to pay Apple records several million dollars in a lawsuit.
Aaron Pelly
Hey, Aaron - this is Aaron. I love his eyes! Those are great! I think the third is my favorite, though I really like the color in the middle one and the look of his skin in the b/w.

Is that $80 lens the 50 1.8? I've been thinking about using my Christmas gift to Adorama for that to put on my (non-pro) 20D. That or a Lensbaby. Decisions, decisions.

Here's the article on it for you: http://www.appleinsider.com/article.php?id=2466
That's why I brought it up.
Terms of agreement weren't disclosed, but Apple Computer will actually be licensing certain trademarks back to Apple Corps. I think all the plugs Steve Jobs has been giving the Beatles recently helped grease the wheels.
Aaron
Thanks for posting the article, Mark.

Mr. Pelly, I would wait on the lens baby. It is a cool little gadget but certainly not a workhorse like a 50 1.8. Focusing can be an issue at times, but definitely one of the best purchases I have made since owning a digital camera.
Aaron Pelly
Mr. Pelly? Sorry, Mr. Pelly is my dad! laugh.gif

Thanks for the advice. Since this is a Christmas gift, I'm looking for something fun to play with, but that also can be used on the job. I have a 2.8 zoom that covers 50, but the 1.8 would be nice once in a while.

I have a wish list a mile long myself. I think they look great. I do love the color in them as well...
I am also like Aaron, I have one of those (non-pro) 20ds...gotta love it!

PRECIOUS baby. i love, love, love his little shirt, too! and hey, i know plenty of people who seem to do well for themselves with a 20D.

i had a PC all through college (as did the computer labs at my DESIGN school (??)). . . never knew what i was missing wink.gif if you run any of the adobe software, you'll be shocked at how much better it runs on a mac (i don't know why, i'm not a computer guru..but it DOES.).

I really enjoy shooting with primes.

If you are a golfer it is like using steel or graphite shafts on your clubs. There is something about the feel of steel that pros prefer over graphite. Steel is a little more accurate (but not much) then graphite. And graphite will absorb the shock of mishits.

If you are not a golfer, then the above analogy really sucks.

Anyways, the extra few stops help but I don't know how often you would use it if you are comfortable with your zoom.

Aaron, Why don't you buy both...the combined price of both wont be that much. And if you never use the other, I am sure someone will take it off your hands very quickly.
Aaron Pelly
Aaron,

Of course I understand your analogy. When I get to the golf course, I always make sure to grab one of the longest putters out of the bins - I think the handles are marked with a blue dot. Wait...maybe I don't understand... wink.gif

Thanks for the help. I think I would really enjoy shooting with a prime, which is one reason I'm considering the 50. When I first started learning photography 15 years ago or so, I used a Pentax K1000 with a 50 and really enjoyed it. I love the zoom for flexibility and speed, but...

Anyway, sorry to hijack your thread. Getting back to the subject and scrolling up again, those are some great shots!

BEAUTIFUL! I have that nifty fifty as well as the 30D and I'm sorry to say my shots don't come close to those. smile.gif
