To my friend Brian, I think it was ...

"Tina, you fat lard, come get your dinner"

... but I could be mistaken.

Gosh ... I'll do what I want to do!!

I went to the Apple store last night and watched their show-and-tell presentation about their new Tiger OS. It is quite awesome. There are many things to like about it, but from what I’ve seen so far, my favorite new feature is the Automator. The Automator is like a script that you can set to perform repetitive workflow tasks by simply selecting a preset icon.

I picked up a copy of Tiger so I’ll be busy playing and trying to tame it for a while.

I pre-ordered Tiger and got mine a day early with free shipping and a sweet student discount! BEST - DAY - EVER.. well, close.

But so far, it's great. The widgets I think are one of my favorite features, and I haven't played too much with the Automator, but once I get some work in, I cant wait!

Spotlight isn't quite as intuitive in my searches as I had hoped, but it's still a major step up from any other built-in search I've used.

Safari changes a little bit, too. I don't know how to describe it unless you have it, but fonts load a little differently and everything seems a little more smooth...

Oh - and I think Mail has taken a couple great steps forward. We needed an update.

There's my expert review... questions, anyone? cool.gif

PS- I don't have a guy... I'd like a gal too, but I suppose this sort of thing isnt where we should descriminate. Strictly business, right? unsure.gif Right. ...Anyways, I think at one point I had one, when I ordered my first apple styems, I had a guy who called to check up on me and such... But since I never had any problems, we've since grown apart. sad.gif ... Dane, anyway you can help me rekindle this old flame???? smile.gif
davidjay
Oh Dude! You already have it!!!!

I want it too!!!

Check out Microcenter. They have Tiger for $80. I'm pretty sure you can order it online.

Got my copy yesterday. OS X has really come of age. While no OS will ever be perfect, Tiger is a big step in the right direction.

I haven't figured out how yet, but Automator has great potential for helping digital photographers with our workflow.

I'm in the process of trying to learn how to build my own Dashboard Widget. Would love to build one that shows recent OSP threads. Not sure how yet, just an idea.

Even thought about creating a widget that potential (Mac) clients could download that randomly shows a photo from my site.

Just being Geeky I guees:-)

Temporary problem with the Tiger OS.

I got the Tiger OS and installed it on my computer last week. Unfortunately, I am finding out that the new Tiger OS is not compatible with some of Adobe's products.

My Adobe Reader 7.0 ceased to work after I installed the Tiger. It kept asking for the 10.3 OS.

I called Adobe's tech support and they confirmed that several of their products are not compatible with the Tiger OS yet. I asked how about their new Photoshop CS2, and they said that too, is not compatible with the Tiger yet.

The Adobe rep said they are working hard to make their products compatible but they could not tell me the date that it will happen, just that it will happen soon.

So for those of you that have partitioned your hard drives, then you can maybe install the Tiger on a new partition so that you'll still be able to run your old programs, and still be able to play with the new Tiger.

Good information Regis. Thank You. I'm getting ready to buy CS2.
davidjay
Awesome Regis! You're the man! Looking forward to hanging this weekend!

Cheers,

Regis,

Does Photoshop CS work on Tiger? Anyone else know any other Photoshop products that WON'T work on Tiger??
Regis Chen
Hi Chris,

Yes, Tiger does work with the Photoshop CS, just not CS2 yet.
