Hey Everyone,
I took my family to see an Arena Football League game yesterday at Staples Center in L.A. I'm a big pro football fan, but this was our first Arena League game. If you haven't already heard the news, during a kickoff return in the first quarter, on what appeared to be a routine tackle, one of the L.A. Avengers players suffered a fatal neck injury and died on the field. As he was being cared for on the field, his teammates gathered in prayer on the sidelines. But no one knew how serious the injury was at the time. He was carted away on a stretcher and the game resumed. But he apparently died before even reaching the hospital. His name was Al Lucas. He was married and had one child.
My wife and I were shocked when we watched the news last night to hear he had died. It's really sad and tragic. However, I read in today's paper that he was a Christian and went to Bible studies with his teammates. For all of us believers, there is great hope and comfort in that, knowing that he's with the Lord.
Anyway, the point of this topic is really to appreciate every day of our life because tomorrow is guaranteed to no one.
