Hello all. I have been lurking, learning, and ocassionaly posting for about a month now. I found this wonderful site thanks to Johnny's blog. I had been a fairly active reader over on dpreview, and it is what it is. However, this place is special and I consider myself lucky to have found it. Thanks Johnny!
A little about me...I am a rookie...as in bought my first dSLR only 2 months ago. My wife and I had been discussing getting a new camera with the birth of our daughter, but didn't pull the trigger until November, Ella was born in March.
As it goes with being around a tool like a dSLR (I have the XTi with Tarmron 17-50) and having subjects like my daughter and wife to work with, my passion for photography has exploded. I want to learn everything I can. I must have over 100 bookmarks...I don't know how to just test the waters.
My day I am an accountant...seemingly "locked" in a conference room or in cube land all day...and it is starting to get to me. I want to know what my photograpic abilities can take me. I know it is a process and I want to do it right...exactly how that should or will be done is where I stand now.
I am from the Twin Cities...so if there is anybody looking for an assistant or free second shooter, please let me know, as I think this may be the best route to learning and understanding taking people pictures...not just potraits.
Thanks for taking the time to read a little bit about me and I truly look forward to learning from each of you...as we all have something to bring to the table I call life.
