This winter we have been working on repositioning our brand. This new logo is the first step (just wait for the new site ) We went through a big decision process whether or not to even keep our name "Turtle Pond" We looked into using our surname, Reynolds, but nothing was meshing. We have been in business a couple of years and didn't want to loose any name recognition we had accumulated. I designed our first logo but felt I was too close to it all to be really creative with it. We met with two designers I used to work under. They were convinced we could keep Turtle Pond and at the same time convey a more refined look and feel. Some of the words we used to describe our image were real, natural, fun, romantic, warm, approachable, refined, elgant and classy. They did an excellent job giving us several choices. Our new colors are a tuscan orange and a chocolatey brown.

Thanks again everybody...I definitely agree that a beautiful identity is well worth the investment (thanks Matt). Even though my degree is in design, I wanted some fresh input and creativity when it came down to our new look. I almost felt like I was too close to the subject matter to even want to re-design our look. I'm so thankful and excited we made this desicison. I can't wait for you guys to see all of the rest of their amazing work....I highly recommend these very talented and creative geniuses to anyone. And even more so, I recommend anyone who is super serious about there business to consider the imortance of branding..it's huge! I'm sure many of you will testify to that

I'm not slammin' them, I've said many times - as have you, that people need to leave the designing up to the designers. And for once, I didn't have to say that.

What's interesting is Amanda's degree is in graphic design. She designed our first logo and it worked quite well for us. She used to work for the guys who did our new one. She had always wanted them to do a project for her because she loved their work. She felt she couldn't give herself her best effort because she was too close to the biz. Most lawyers don't represent themselves

Seriously, the samples you showed me at the gallery were great. Amanda I know what you mean about being too close to the project and needing some outside input. I have done quite a few logos for people, but I can't do k.c. for nothing! I've probably done 30 or 40 logos for myself and if I don't have it by now I'm not gonna get it. Oh well, time to shell out some moolah for a pro!

Wow. The new logo totally meshes with all of the words you are going for. Elegant, relaxed, approachable, classy. I love the lines of your text/font and the beautiful piece with the turtle. That will be a really beautiful stamp (I think that's what it's called.) There's a lot of room to go with the whole design. For me, room to grow, is what makes a design good and what makes it work. You've done a great job communicating with your designers and they've done a great job listening. That relationship is so key in getting a really awesome logo.
