Full Version: Lightroom and Brilliant Bridge Presets

I think I asked this question in some other place but I cannot find the therad, so here it goes again...

I know that the Brillant presets where done for Bridge 2 and not for Lightroom. I am not sure if they will work on Bridge 3 as it has many more options. Here it goes... I am wondering if there is a way to use them in Lightroom and Bridge 3. That would be a big plus for Lightroom. Anybody knows?

If you are asking weather or not Lightroom will read the settings from an existing XMP sidecar file, then yes. I don't think you will be able to just import the settings from ACR into Lightroom. I'll bet there will be a ton of Lightroom Presets avaialble soon!

I don't know how to auto import the settings into Lightroom, but you could physically see what changes are being made in ACR and then do the same in Lightroom and save it. Hopefully DJ and Kubota will come up with a Lightroom version soon, maybe at a discount for Brillant users or something.

www.lightroompresets.com has a few up already that you can install, but I find I like my own versions better.

Yea smile.gif I'll be trying to get them converted as soon as the full version of LR is released and everyone who has the bridge settings will get the LR ones for free.

If you don't want to wait, I just wrote an article and put in on Pro Photography Show the other day.

It explains how to easily take raw files with presets applied (Bridge CS2, or CS3 will work) and get them made into presets in Lightroom.

There's no fully automated way to it it, but I've already got Brilliant Bridge Settings into lightroom as presets. You should be able to have it done in no time

DJ if you want them I have them made up. I can zip, and email all the brilliant presets, and you'll just have to go over them and make sure they all work the way you want. Might save you some time thumbsup.gif

Here's the article for those who want to do it themselves... How to import import bridge raw presets into lightroom

oh cool - I'll check it out! Rock on!

I tried this but it was too hard for me to determine which settings to save into Lightroom. I think I'll just wait till DJ releases the final presets to make sure they are all correct. Thanks!

Any more info on a possible ETA for the Lightroom presets? biggrin.gif

Hey DJ, any more info regarding this? I am still currently using bridge because I love the presets so much, but I can't wait to start using Lightroom!
davidjay
oh cool - this would be a good project for me tomorrow. I did half of them a couple of weeks ago and then hadn't gone back to it.

The conversion to LR won't be exact becasue for some crazy odd wacko reason Adobe yanked some of the auto settings that are in bridge and are not in LR - dumb - but oh well. I'll do my best to make them as close as possible.

Rock on!

I noticed the Lightroom presets are now available from getit.davidjay.com. Where can the people that previously purchased the Bridge presets go to get the free lightroom ones? Thanks!

Hi, I wondered this to and decided to access my old link and download it again. If you do that you'll see the Lightroom presets are included.

Yay! Thanks DJ
