So, I gone ahead and picked up a new lens...its not phenomenal, but a good start. In time, as I get more weddings and bring in more money, I'll start working on getting the nice 2.8 IS lenses. Until then: here is my current list. Think I can survive?
Sigma 70-200 2.8
Tokina 12-24 2.8
Canon 50 1.8
Sigma 24-70 2.8
In time, I'll upgrade. But I think its ok to start out. Weddings is a fairly new genre for me, and I've done ok in churches without the fixed 2.8. So I'm really excited to see what kind of results I can get now!

You'll be just fine for now with that lineup. I've had and used all of those lenses.

Hijack....Chris, how's the weather in Ed? What's going on with the Oil man. They're struggling to make the playoffs.

I thought that Tokina 12-24 was an f/4 lens?

It is. I'd assume that she made a mistake on that one.

Bummer, I got excited for a sec

A fast ultrawide for crop bodies would be sweet.
