OpenSourcePhoto > Who We Are :-) > We lived!
the real Carrie V

Wow... a total shooting time of exactly 24 hours, and batching/editing/culling time yesterday of 14.5 hours, but I lived!!

For those who asked earlier, the shoot was benefitting the CRMC (local hospital) Employee Committee, a charitable organization that provides aid to not only its employees in need, but also to families all over our local area.

I think they should make a total of about $2000 after ticket sales and their percentage of package sales in a couple of weeks.

Tony, thanks!! Yeah, I brought with me one backdrop, two lights, and some of the favorite props from the studio. Lots weren't used, but it was nice to have them, just in case.

Wow! Such amazing work! The lighting is beautiful! The shot of the 3 boys together is my favorite.

What type of lights are you using if you don't mind me asking?

I love that shot of the three brothers, too! If the mother of those three boys doesn't buy a wall print, I shall probably buy it FOR her! hahhaa!!

I had one AB800, fitted with a large softbox at camera right, and one AB400 with a 48" silver umbrella at camera left. It was an odd arrangement, and pretty much experimental, but I was liking the results, so I left the strobes where they were almost the whole time; basically only going up and down for different heights.

Hi Carrie!!! Amazing work as always!! I can't decide on a favorite, I love 'em all!! wub.gif

All very WOW! Mrs. V! You Rock! urock.gif Thanks for filling us in on your lighting, which is what gave it the extra superlative for me. That and the great expressions you captured. clap.gif

Carrie - Spectacular!!

and you HAVE to do some promotional work with that collage....it's too good to just show us OSPers. (Not that we're not a deserving audience.) You gotta share it with the world.

I can see it as a long banner hanging somewhere....or a edge ad in a magazine. Are there any local mags that would give you a PR write-up?

You may already have all this covered, just typing off the top of my head.

Thanks, nice idea!!
I did post it on my website, and got a dozen phone calls from moms wanting to know why *their* kids didn't go on the sneak peek, LOL!!

But I could surely put it in the local magazine or something!
Tess
You rock! I did 12 families in four hours and I thought I would pass out! Well done!

Wow, Mrs. V. You inspire me. I hope to have that kind of stamina one day. I love your images and can't help admiring your backdrop. Can I ask you what kind of fabric it is and where I can find a backdrop like it. I love how it converts so nicely to b/w. Beautiful.
