Go, everyone, go. You won't be sorry!

I've been a long-time Joe fan and I met Marcus a few weeks ago in San Antonio. Joy and I were blessed to see them when they stopped in Atlanta. If you're into shooting from the heart, this is the one for you. What a great day!

Go people... It's life-changing. I got goosebumps listening to how Joe makes his pitch. It's unbelievable that the guy is that down to earth and wonderful. And Marcus was awesome too. A wealth of information and unbelievable value.

I AGREE!! I went to the one in Atlanta. I started not to go but did not want to "waste" my money. I am so glad I did. Was well worth the money and inspiring. These guys are soooo down-to-earth.

Can't wait to be inspiring to my next brides.

I was going to.. But I have a bridal show that night at 6PM, which means I'd have to leave early (like 3) and hope I made it in time. While I'd LOVE to see Joe.. Not gonna happen. sad.gif

Whoooweeee... I woke up at 4 am so that I could make it to Chicago by 8:30 am. Thank goodness they're in Central time and I'm on Eastern!!

Joe gave some really valuable information about how he gets inside the client's head and plays on their emotions. He also shared stories from some celebrity weddings and how he's expanded his business out from the work he's done with weddings. It was really affirming to know that Joe had a similar start the way that I did, and that he has built his business in the same way that I am building mine. He's a total WOM guy who focuses on the client service more than the art. Joe likes to work as a second shooter for his weddings, with someone else taking the lead and the heat for the "required" shots.

Marcus gave some great tips on branding and creating a "remarkable experience" for his clients. He talked a lot about his selling process as well. He also gave Lightroom demonstrations as well as PS demos on dodging and burning to get the effect he likes for his very artful work. He's very much a guy who relies on advertising and brand marketing while focusing on the art of photography, and he prefers to work alone on a wedding day, but he runs his studio with a few other associate photographers.

Afterward there was a dedicated social hour... which is the only time I took pics! I didn't get to enjoy the drinks because I had the 4 hour drive home... but I still got to look silly....

Joe is as sweet as everyone said he was. It was also pretty chilly in that hotel!!

wow! Anne, sounds amazing. I saw Joe in San Antonio at the beginning of the month and it was wonderful to hear him speak in person. I'm going to make an effort to catch him next time he's in the Bay Area.

Thanks for the insight smile.gif

Lightroom has CLONING NOW!!!! WOO HOO!!! That was the only things I had to do in PhotoShop, so now I probably won't even NEED photoshop!!! However, it still doesn't do dodging and burning... but that seems like something they may be able to incorporate in the future. He also demonstrated some really awesome import options and export options that I don't think were available before. Also - on top of all the other great organizational tools, there's a "picking" system with flags that's SUPER fast for editing out the keeps and tosses!! P=pick, X=out - so you can go through a slideshow of images and either pick it or take it out and it automatically goes on to the next image - no mouse clicks involved!! Yippeee!! It also sounds like Marcus is going to have a set of lightroom actions that you'll be able to purchase. I honestly had no idea what an artist he was... it was cool to see him work his magic in front of our eyes.

Anne,

Wow, it looks like you guys had a blast! Andrew and I enjoyed hearing Joe and Marcus in Atlanta, and always feel re-energized after listening to them tell stories from their hearts. There are very few photographers who can make photography as personal as Joe. His ability to talk openly about his emotional response to photographing is one-of-a-kind! So glad you had this opportunity!
See you in Vegas?!?!
