Full Version: Prayers Please...

Johnny
Hi all.

My father in law (Jeff) needs your prayers.

He is once again in the hospital due to some major problems with his heart.
I really can't go into too many details since there are too many issues to write about, let me just say that he's been real sick for as long as I've dated my wife. And that he's been in and out of the hospital more times than I can count.

But this time feels different and I am fearful for my wife's sake and for my children's sake.

My prayer request is simple and direct:

please pray that God's will be done regarding his life.
If it is time for him to be with God, let it be done without pain or suffering (he's suffered enough IMO).

If it is God's will that he be healed, let him be healed completely.
And that he will have no use for synthetic medicines in order to stay alive.

God's will be done in all things.

Thank you OSP! wub.gif

Heavenly Father,

I offer this prayer for Johnny's father-in-law, for the strength of grace that the entire family needs in this time of uncertainty. We know that ALL things happen for the benefit of those who love you (Rm. 8:28). Above all Father, let your will be done, and give Johnny, his wife, his kids, and all the family your heavenly peace, your shalom, to know that we are all in your hands and nothing happens in the lives of them that love you that is not according to your will. If it is your will Lord that Johnny's father-in-law be healed, may your will be done, and if your will is to bring him before your presence to enjoy the better life that awaits him, give all his family the joy of knowing that they have not lost a father or grandfather, but that a saint has been added to the heavens. Amen.

Thanks again everyone!

We got a call from Jeff tonight (he usually doesn't call from the hospital - my mother in law usually calls - so this is very serious) and he explained that there is nothing the docs can do for him.

He's in a lot of pain, and they have him highly dosed on morphine.
He's had a bad heart for as long as I've known him, and has been in and out of the hospital countless times. Every time we think he's on his way out, but then they give him more meds and he's back home, sleeping in his easy chair.

Anyway, he's only got about 20% heart function, and the pain is due to numerous attacks as things die off. Plus he is losing blood in his intestine. Keep the prayers going please.

We all need it. 51.gif wub.gif

God Bless you all and thank you all for the prayers!

And Ramiro - thank you for that very thoughtful prayer.
I meant to PM you, but I wanted to thank you publicly.

Still praying, Johnny. As you know, God's will is always accomplished, and it is always the best possible result. May the peace of God be with you and your wife.

Johnny-

I continue to pray for you, your family, and your father-in-law. I can only imagine what your wife is feeling right now. May you all experience the peace of God's love you continue through this difficult time.

You are in my thoughts.

Oh Johnny I'm so sorry. Give your wife a big bigbighug.gif from me.

I wanted to update everyone (if you don't mind).

My father-in-law was out of the hospital for 4 days, and was receiving a treatment that is supposed to help you strengthen your heart muscle and grow new vessels, arteries etc.
It's a machine that works your legs while you lay there - my dad (not my father-in law) had this done and it worked for him (my dad can walk longer distances and can ride a bike)...

Anyway, Jeff (my father-in-law) went back in the hospital today.
He was having bad tremors (stroke maybe?) - - but his doctors are not sure why, and they don't think it was because of the treatment.

So, this will be my last post before my Lenten vow to give up OSP throughout the 40 days of Lent.

I will accept and read emails [ johnny at johnmagnoski dot com ] but I will not be reading PM's

Please continue to pray for Jeff and our family.
We would hate to lose him, but hate to see him suffer.

My Mother in law told us that he cried all the way to the hospital.
He is a very kind but stubborn man, and to hear that broke our hearts.

Pray that his soul is right with God, and that God will accept Jeff into His heavenly kingdom.

Thank you & God Bless you OSP! thumbsup.gif
