I'm Neil Cowley and in case you haven't seen me around here much I'm a photographer based out of Rochester NY. My friends and aquaintences have inquired about how I created the light for my pictures and it got to the point I sat down and figured out how to teach the approach. Through the resulting soul searching I found a clearly understandable method to "Make Light Real". I think you'll enjoy spending a day with me learning lighting concepts and doing excercises to understand how you can incorporate them into your creative process. In this one day course we'll be holding at Geneve's Studio I'll instruct you in some basic concepts which create uncommon images using lighting tools common to photographers.
We'll start at 9am and finish around 5. You can find full details and signup on my website: http://makelightreal.com - or reply with your questions.
In the workshop I will help you understand how to make strobe 'disapear' into the quality of light you want:

I will also show you how to use your shoe flashes to make your subject 'appear' from the background:

We will learn to see the colors around us and use our cameras to help manipulate them into better compositions.

The core goal of the workshop is to equip you with the tools and thought processes to free yourself from the limitations of location and subject in your photographic creativity. My approach is not a quick gimic for you to reproduce successes I have had in the past, but a thorough creative process. When you leave the workshop you will be motivated to learn and adapt from every shoot you do furthering your photographic vision.
The Workshop will be held in the studio of Geneve Hoffman in the Button Factory in Portsmouth NH on February 27th.* There will be a bonus 1/2 day Photoshop workshop on February 28th*on how to apply the techniques you learned to further enhance your images in photoshop.* It will be offered at a 50% discount for all Make Light Real participants.**There is an early bird discount and only 12 spots, so be sure to register soon!**If you have any questions feel free to post here.
