During a fit of "how am I gonna keep myself looking overly-busy during this visit to the in-laws"...I decided to take one image and run the gamut of my PS actions (or at least most of them anyway!).

Here is the resulting slideshow.

I did this primarily for fun...but also to keep a folder full of images that I can refer to should I want to find the results of a particular PS action...kind of a benchmark thing. I'm about to purchase the totally rad actions too (so I can be like becker like everyone else... laughing.gif ), so my benchmark folder will soon change.

You can view the gallery of the images to find the name of the PS action (if you see one you like)...the code is pretty simple..."gavin" stands for Gavin Phillips actions..."kk" is Kubota..."lr" is a lightroom preset..."si" is a show-it effect.

I'd be surprised if anyone watches the entire slideshow... laughing.gif

If you like it...go out to my dailyphototips.com blog and leave me some blog love (or feel free to submit your tips...I've got a few in the works that some people have submitted...why not increase your google rank with something actually useful??? LOL).

NO, I'm not selling anything on dailyphototips -- just something I created to force myself to find new stuff on a regular basis. I've got a long way to go...and the journey will never end...

(BTW -- credit for the image in the slideshow goes to Alisha's gracious and beautiful friend Jennifer who volunteered as a model for our June pug meeting last summer....thanks Jennifer, thanks Alisha!)

That's really cool. Interesting choice of music.

I think I would have made the slide show without any motion though. So you could pick one thing to look at, say, her hairline or the flowers, and just look in that one spot for a while.

Yeah, I wanted something pretty corny in terms of music...gotta put some of that royalty free stuff to good use...ya' know, since I'm not doing corporate training / motivation programs. laugh.gif

I had the same thought about the motion...I just was in a hurry...I'm gonna go back and dial the motion down to 0 to see how it looks.

Actually Matt...it was only like 3 hours (I didn't tweak the actions much, if at all)...maybe I shouldda bought some more actions at Christmas time! And I didn't have my PI (Matt An toe knee no) action set on my laptop...else I would have had more!

Cool Dan, I watched the whole thing. It was interesting to see the width of her face change with different actions because of what it did to the light.

I have a million actions too (ParkerJ being some of my favs) but I think it is really important to follow the old saying here "Jack of all trades, master of none."

You/we need to pick the few we really like, or combination of them and perfect it instead of trying to use so many different ones. I think that is why Jessica and [b] are so great with theirs. They seem to only use a few but they use them very well. Please correct me if I am wrong you two.

and...If you pay for a whole set and only use a couple, so what. It is still way worth what ever the set costs if you come away with one outstanding action that you didn't have before.
