=o) Welcome my friends. Let's just say January couldn't of gotten any busier or better or worse. Let me explain.
1. I live in Springfield, Missouri. Like, ground zero for the federal ice storm emergency. My wife (pregnant, due in April), 2 year old daughter and myself were displaced from our townhouse (no power, water) for almost 2 full weeks.
We're safe and sound now, but it was a fun (sarcasm) ride. First to a local church (I'm a bible college student, I know people =o) ), that then lost power on Jan. 14th, which btw was my 27th birthday. I kept welcoming other college kids (remember! I'm 27!) to my birthday party! I kept thanking them for showing up, and to enjoy themselves, etc. LoL, it was funny. Then they found out it was my birthday and we had a blast playing basketball (gym) and watching San Diego lose on a HUGE projection screen.
Life was good, for being powerless and homeless, etc. I even had an all day FIFA SOCCER XBOX 360 tournament. BUT, then we lost power again. We all went our seperate ways, and my family ended up in Branson, MO down the road from Springfield. They weren't hit hard by the ice, and had power. We got a hotel room and waited for 3 days. Still no end in sight. My inlaws got power back a day earlier, and so we headed there (Back to Springfield) and stayed there for almost 1 1/2 weeks total.
Yep... in laws! They're nice people, but ya know... you just DON'T Wanna live with em, right? =o)
God Bless em... we made it and school started that next week, and we still had no power. Until Jan. 24th! My daughter's 2 year birthday. That evening they restored power and we went home the next afternoon.
Thank you all for your prayers for us poor souls in this area. Pray that we DON'T get the projected (Farmer's Almanac says) ice storm on Feb 11-13th. See ya Winter! I want spring (so I can shoot portraits again).
So what does all of this have to do with photography? Well as you know I work 5 jobs, 4 of them photography related. Well, none of the jobs had power. So weddings weren't editted, colleges weren't studied, etc. I was up the creek without a paddle, until three awesome ladies called me.
Bride 1, Bride 2, and Bride 3.
Bride 1, was my before mentioned 1,300 bride (my first 1,000 wedding +)
She has since backed out, because family booked her a wedding photog as a gift behind her back (She's from Alaska now, so I understand). Oh well.
But I booked the other 2, plus a new one and I've got a good lead on another right now. Then another bride (from before) decides she wants to pay off the remaining balance.
So God has blessed... =o) Thanks again for reading. School stinks, I'm in classed from 7:30AM - 3:30PM, plus the 5 jobs. So I'm honestly, trully killing myself everyday. It's not good (I've got a heart condition under control, but can get stressy) and it's not right on my family. They deserve to see their husband and daddy.
Then baby #2 comes in April. So pray that I'll get off here, and get my butt back to work on my new BluDomain template site. Oh yeah, Btw... I got in on the 400.00 deal! Booyah baby!
Oh, and my Dell laptop arrived today 12 days ahead of time, what can I say, I know someone in high places. =o)
*Gives shout out to you all and to God, Yo yo! Jesus in the hizzouse!*
Nighty night!
