Could one or two of you please go to my site and help me pick out some colors that actually go together. I am tweaking my new site and cant get my colors to coencide. Its driving me bonkers. Someone who knows the colorwheel a bit better should give me some suggestions.
I want it to match the colors in my logo, but look classy as well and not tooo colorful but have impact. Apparently my recipie of primary blue and mustard yellow arent working out as i planned.
Still trying to switch out images as well, but want to get past the color thing also.
Also, comments on the new song choice appreciated.

Bump. Sorry, dont want ugly colors on my live website. smile.gif

not digging the mustard, but I guess that's who you asked, and I can barely read the type at the bottom left it needs a darker hue. Your logo is blue and white, and you've got the blue as the border, why not try white?? can't go wrong

I'm also not a fan of the mustardy yellowy green that you've got going on there.

RGB
CMY

Reds go well with Cyan
Greens go well with Magenta/Pinks
Blues go well with Yellow.

Typically speaking, that is.

If you're using the blues that you have, I'd go with a vibrant PUNCHY Yellow to match it. Your blue keyline is fantastic, and I think that a strong yellow would work well with it.

Just my $0.02 from an old colour specialist. smile.gif

Thanks S. for the input as you can tall Im in a bit of a tizzy to stramline this thing visually. The think with whit is then the text wont show up and Ill have to change THAT color too. Im going to see if I get anymore suggestions before I delve too deep or I have a feeling with the amount of customization Im allowed to do and my color confusion, it will end up looking like a Barnum and Bailey ticket stub. laughing.gif

Hugs to you.

I'm horrible with colors, so I'm absolutely no help with suggestions. But the blue and yellow just don't scream "jenny" to me. Neither does the music. I would describe your personality (and thus your photography) as edgy, cool, sexy.

I know, I'm useless smile.gif

Its finding that PUNCHY yellow that Im having a block with. The little color picker seems to be a bit muddy and so I keep comming up mustard. Thanks for the "this goes with that" menu, Ill try some stuff. smile.gif

How about soften the colors you're using? We've established that blue, yellow and white coordinate so you're on the right track but that yellow is too green and the blue is too purple. Soften those colors; make the blue the same as the lightest blue in your C. I cannot read the corner sentence either - try using the blue or go with white. My 2 cents.

Hence the post for help laughing.gif

And no madame, you are far from useless.

As far as the song, I thought if anyone was edgy, cool, and sexy...it was Bille Holiday.
I had two hyper children with me while I was trying to listen to music at Slackers to see what might be a good choice. The guy with the dreadlocks and bone through his nose behind the counter was really feelin the mood I was wanting to create. We werent really connecting with his suggestions for musical groups, so I was left only to go with what I knew. smile.gif

yeah, the music doesn't really grab me either. But, I'm not a bride.

Jen,

I'll contribute what I can. I would agree about softening the colors as mentioned above. Or perhaps just going with different tones of blue. If you go too dark with the blue it will compete with the black background, so perhaps you can play with the background..perhaps white or a light gray, or a real pale yellow.

It's interesting because one of the things that I really liked about your old music was that it invoked a certain feeling of emotion that suited your portfolio, I had no problem listening to it over and over. That's just me. This song, unfortunately put me too sleep.

A couple of minor things. I noticed that there is no navigation back to your home/landing page. Once you click on one of the menu items you can't go back to the start. I don't know if that's a big deal or not, or maybe it's a problem with my browser but I couldn't find a "home" button.

Some other points. On your "About Me" section, I would adjust your spacing between your 2nd and 3rd para to keep it more uniform. And it seems that the last paragraph is center justified because the spacing between your words is off compared to the paragraphs above it. These are such little things, but for some reason I noticed them.

Try Yellow #e9e96e
it's RGB values are as follows:

R 233
G 233
B 110

And would look something like THIS.

I'm personally not a fan of using primary colors together. It's visually too lound and dosen't say high-end to me. Primary colors have their market...children mainly, but it depends on the look you're going for.

Maybe try varying shades of blue with the grayscale you've got going on. Or if you really want yellow, try a lighter tone or add a little orange. $0.02

definately needs tweaking...i love billie holiday in fact i have a different recording of the same song done by her but it seems like my version moves faster and has less piano...but I do feel like the music drags. I don't mind the thought of mustard and blue but I would choose a different shade than the one you have...i'm not sure those go with black. Theres something else but I just can't put my finger on it yet.

Jenn,

Here is a link to another site called kuler. It's run by Adobe. I used it to choose my color scheme.....which isn't saying much since you haven't seen it. But, it may help, as well.

well, not sure if you know about this or not but your thumbnails go past your "box" and the vertical pictures display "under" your thumb rows.

Sometimes its easier for me if I see it in person... I love paint chips for things like this. Check out the hardware store find some colors you like and go together. Then use a html color chart and pick the ones that match. smile.gif

I think you could find a better suited song too. Good Luck.

I found this color chart:
