Full Version: Slideshows in 2.5

How come the new showit web update does not let users change the timing of the slideshows. No offense, but I do not think it was a smart idea because that is what captivated me to buy it and it should not be disabled... so I was thinking the rest of the public should be able to have those options as well. Even though the option is available in version 2, I still think it should be available 2.5.
BillCawley
The timing is there... My understanding is that you have to register with a 2.0 license code to enable it. If you use a version 1 code it will disable the timing. Did you use a 2.0 code?

I am not saying for me... I am saying for others. I have a friend that wants to buy it showit web 2.5 but he cannot get the real feel of the version 2.5 software without the slideshow timings. He is also afraid that he buys this version then 3.0 or something will come out and he will lose his money. Showit web 2.5 should have all the same capabilities as 2.0 in the trial + more... not less.

smile.gif It's still available...that's what makes SIW so good.

I do not understand what your saying DJ?
BillCawley
I don't think DJ saw what you wrote in your response to me since he posted at the exact same time you did....

I would suggest your friend go ahead and buy 2.0/2.5 now, the quirks from 2.0 are worked out and it's a super useful tool. I think it'll be awhile before 3.0 comes out frankly I'm not sure what more could be added. I suppose that anything can be improved on, but SIW is fully functional and the timing template feature sets it apart from other web slideshow programs...

So go for it.

If your friend has tried out the 2.0 demo version of showit, then all he has to do is buy that version, and use his registration code on the new version 2.5, and it will enable the custom timing.

2.5 has 2 available versions to it. "Lite" and "Pro". Lite will allow SIW 1.0 users to use 2.5, with some features disabled until they "upgrade" to the 2.x version. Pro has all the features enabled.

Make sense?

I am lost, I went to getit.davidjay.com and only see 2.0, I have and paid for 2.0 and didn't know that 2.5 was released. Where can I download 2.5 and will my 2.0 code work to activate it?

Here is the link: http://showitfast.com/downloads.php

Yes, your 2.0 code will activate it.

Hmmm, I just downloaded v2.5 - used my 2.0 code and my custom timing is also locked out. It says I have to upgrade to PRO... what's that all about?

I was able to use the custom timings before, so now why am I locked out?

That's weird, mine works. I'd try it one more time and then contact support.

Good luck!

Do you still have v1 installed?
Chris Uglanica
Are you absolutely SURE that you used your v2.0 activation code?
As well, I clicked on the PRO button when I first launched the new version, but I doubt that has anything to do with it.
davidjay
huh...it may be a bug ...remember this is still a "beta" release which means everything isn't ironed out yet but we haven't had that problem and of course we have not removed any features - only added features! smile.gif

If you're having issues or find a bug please submit it to http://showitfast.com/support and they'll make sure it's taken care of.

If you use your version 2.0 code it should unlock Showit Web Pro and if you use your version 1.0 code it should unlock Showit Web Lite.

Rock on!

I didn't have to put in my registration for 2.5 beta - but it picked up 1.0 When I uninstalled 1.0 and reinstalled 2.0 then 2.5 it worked like a charm. I don't know if that will help but I'd uninstall everything then reinstall just 2.5 and use your 2.0 key.

Johnny,

I used what I had thought was my V2.0 key, and it only unlocked "Lite" for me. Then I went to the GetIt store and found my 2.0 key, and voila! It works like a hot dang.
Johnny
I can't log in to support.
I've tried every email account + password I have in my arsenal...

Plus I realized that I used v1.0 code and I cannot find v2.0's code unsure.gif

Also, I just loaded ShowIt 2.0 and the top says ShowIt Web 2 Beta 5
I was positive that I had downloaded the full version... unsure.gif

The kicker is I am so disorganized, I cannot find my receipts for them.
Stay organized folks! Learn from me.

Oh well. Looks like I'll just have to wait till 2.5 Pro is available for sale.
Chris Uglanica
Johnny,

go to http://getit.davidjay.com and log in.

Then go to "My Account"

Then click on "Show All Orders"

Find your V2.0 order.
Your activation code is in there bud.

Then launch the new version of SIW that you installed. V2 Beta 5 is the new version.

click on "File" Click on "upgrade" enter all your info as per how you registered the show, and "Bam, bob's your uncle", you're done.
