Heyall,
I'm looking at camera bags today and am curious what you professionals use during weddings? Shoulder Bag? Waist Bag? Backpack? Nothing?
I'd love some feedback from all you experienced users!

Hey Josh, you're from Cambria? Cool, I worked at CBO back in the day. I live off 46 West near Vineyard dr. now. My father was up working on the renovation to create the music studio, how did that end up?
I like a really small bag. I always have one or two camera's on my neck so I just carry a small bag that can carry my backup w/lens, an extra flash, an extra lens, some pocket wizards and cards. The bag can fit one of the bodies but not both. I have been using a Lowe Pro Nova 5 but will probably switch to a slimmer sachel type bag this year. I keep a big bag in the car for storage, but when I am shooting why carry a big empty bag?

I love my Lowepro Slingshot 200. It has been perfect, but I haven't been doing weddings for very long

I'm no expert.

Hey Josh

I use my
Canon Bag currently, and I really love it. It fits all the gear that I like to bring with me just fine, and if I ever need more stuff, I just throw it in another bag.
I'm going to order a
Tenba bag soon, though, so that I can fit both my bodies in the one bag...I've seen that bag around, and I absolutely love it. Plus it will hold my laptop, too! Yippee!

I like a soft wide shallow photojournalistic type bag (which conforms to my body) without a lot of extra pockets.
I bought a $20 canvas bag at Old Navy that was the perfect size for two 3-compartment Domke inserts (1 large and 2 small compartments). (They don't carry the bag any more.) I can carry a backup body, 3 flashes, 4 or 5 lenses, and all my batteries and memory cards.
I padded the bottom and Scotch-Guarded it.
(I use it to transport my equipment. I almost never wear it while shooting.)

Heyall, thanks for the help. I've used a satchel in the past--I've always liked it at camp, but found it very uncomfortable in weddings. I've been looking at the Lowepro slinghshot 200 aw, so it's good to hear someone is using it.
Any other tips?
(oh, I'm only in Cambria for a few weeks before doing a Cali tour thru friend's homes as I'm inbetween jobs)

Tamrac Medium Rolling Strongbox is my bag. Holds alot, rolls easily through most of what I have had to roll it through, and oh yeah, it holds alot.

We got these last fall and love them. They roll and have a shoulder strap. Telescoping handle, too. This is the Tamrac 5263.

I'm going to buy Tamrac LP2, the medium size with big wheels, next week. It will fit my 17" G4 and different lenses. Another bag to think about is Lowepro Pro Roller 2. Its lifetime warranty and a lil bigger than Tamrac LP2. The bad thing about is, there's no place for my G4, but there's a place to strap on your tripod on the side.

the slingshot AW 300 is coming out pretty soon I hear. Its going to be bigger than the 200AW, its more for pros.
my 200AW is fine at the moment, I could probably fit my 10-20mm in there when it arrives ( already have in there: 1 nikon d100, flash, rocket blower, filters, two batteries, 82mm expo disc thingey, 50mm 1.8, reflector, charger, notebook, pen, business cards and thats about it I think)
but I'm in the middle of saving for a 70-200 2.8 VR, so looks like I'll have to upgrade to the 300AW, I don't know if it could fit another body in there, I'd hope so.

I just got the Tenba 17c. I'm really digging it and the straps are very solid and comfortable.

I am more picky when it comes to camera bags than my wife is about her purses. I've tried A LOT of different bags. Two companies really stand out:
Domke...canvas camera bags, tan so they don't turn into ovens in the sun, don't scream camera bag, fast, and not overly padded
Think Tank: My new travel bag, the airport anticdote, You can read my

Hi Josh....long time!
We run with three bodies so we really don't carry around a bag...but we use a Think Tank Aiport Addicted rolling case for transport. If I really need to have a bag with me I use a Domke J-3.
Good luck with your decision.

I'm also a big fan of the Tenba 17c. It's great, but we'll probably get a 2nd bag at some point this year which will probably be a rolling Tamrac bag. With Katie shooting now, we need room for more gear.
