Just curious if anyone has ever seen the actual book itself. It's going around $1500-$2000!!
I'll just be happy looking at some of his images online. How awesome would it be to see the images in person.

I had a copy of it and it was stolen.
HCB had an exhibition in Indy many years ago and the museum was overwhelmed with visitors. I wasn't surprised. They had to come up with creative ways to deal with the line of people waiting. The exhibit was awesome!

k.c. HCB fan.

Someone stole it? I guess the person must have known how valuable it is. Though I didn't think the average Joe would know of HCB. But Awww that sucks!! sad.gif
Wow, I can't believe the price and the popularity of HCB! I've been to a Monet exhibit before (I know not photo related) but it still wasn't as crowded as you describe the HCB gallery.
haha, I guess if people talk about getting me a present I should nudge them to this book. Otherwise a 5d or Leica m8. or 70-200mm IS lens with the strength to hold it steady. Whatever. haha kidding kidding!

My mentor/professor had a lovely copy of The Decisive Moment.
He stored it in a huge fire-safe, along with many other valuable, first-edition photo books.
He would take the books out every year to share with students. Amazing!

There is a wonderful Henri Cartier-Bresson exhbit at ICP in NY:

John + Lovina Arcara

That is so cool!
I wish I could go...I wonder, if the book was in english and if it maybe had descriptions of what HCB was thinking when creating the composition of each piece? Were there any images maybe that wasn't seen on the web?
