Hey everyone!

I wanted to share a personal photography project with you guys. If you know me, or have seen my old or new website, it's no surprise that I love studio work. Well ever since OSPS2, I've had this idea to make my own book of creative portraits... but the catch would be that everyone in it would be either a friend or family member... hence the F Project! (Ben Vigil, I think I told you that idea the second it popped in my brain!)

Well, since then I've made a few rules for myself... they would all be in studio (or maybe location lighting?), b&w, and not the typical portraiture that I normally do. This way, I could stay on my toes creatively, technically, and make sure I keep photography FUN!

Having said all of that, I'm not planning on collecting all of them to print for a good few years... but here's what I've got so far!

(if you've never met my wife, Courtney, she's the first picture!)

Great idea! Love your work.

Yeah definetly a great idea! Reminds me of GAP ads happy.gif It will make a great coffee table book! So cool!!!
Just curious but what does the "F" in the "F project" stand for?
Jamie Delaine
SO Great! You should totally make this into a coffeetable book like "pic" said. I love #1 and #3. I'm usually not a fan of studio work because it just bores me, but I am definitely not bored with these.

Fun idea - I LOVE it!

Great concept, great images. Those would definitely look nice in a coffee table style book.

I think the "f" stands for "friend" or "family" since everyone featured is supposed to be either one or the other.
Laurie
Love it.

I love studio work. Great idea.

Thanks guys! Jessica beat me to it - but the F does stand for either 'friends' or 'family'... and either you all read my mind, or photographers tend to think along the lines of coffee table books!

The goal is a nice, at least 12x12 coffee table book!

Nam,

This is a great idea -- very cool!
I think Mark@LaCour would make a great candidate for the book.
He and Zack Arias could be the bearded guys in your book!

SO true! I didn't realize it until you said it... but there seems to be a giant lack of facial hair in the book so far. aa_keyboard.gif (the only facial haired smiley i could find) Although I'm not quite sure I'm ready to show Zach my lighting work just yet... it's like going up to Crocodile Dundee with a K-Mart steak knife! (not quite sure what that means)

Jasmine, if you ask me nicely - I may just consider letting you make one too! And I won't even tell anyone (else) about mine... thumbsup.gif
