How the heck do I login to upload files to my site! I've read all the help material, I'm doing what they tell me! The only other time I've used FTP is to upload stuff to lulu.com. I just bought a new site/domain through godaddy.com, and a flash template from winklet. My current website is just a DIY website builder so I've never had to do this before.

I'm using SmartFTP, and using ftp://www.shelbyleigh.com, as the address, like godaddy tells me, then I use my godaddy account info as a login and this is what it says:

As you can tell I'm pretty computer retarded when it comes to this stuff, and I'm in hate with SmartFTP. smashpc.gif All the other popular FTP clients I've seen cost money or are confusing to begin even downloading. I need help sad.gif

still having problems?

try dropping the 'www' and just use 'shelbyleigh' to login. sometimes that confuses FTP programs.

is it an FTP or SFTP account? you might try logging in both ways.

I believe its live, I set everything up.

Should I try a different FTP client, can anyone reccomend something?

The only thing thats seemed to semi-work is when i use just she address: www.shelbyleigh.com, instead of ftp://www.shelbyleigh.com. This is what comes up:

Shelby - try using the following: ftp://shelbyleigh.com (Drop the WWW portion). Typically, that www is just to point to a folder in there. You definitely don't want to get rid of "ftp://"

I FINALLY got it to work, after hours of figuring out what I was doing wrong! Well for anyone who has this issue, I had to actually set something up, not sure WHAT i did, but I had to create a password for this. I'm not using the godaddy login account info, its totally different. I dont know, whatever I did, I did it on accident, but I got it to work!

best advice, is to send the picture you had posted on osp to godaddy via a token! theyd give you all of the details youd need. i use fetch for mac and ws_ftp client for windows. if you use mac though try onebutton ftp its super simple! it does the hard work for you!

but good that you got it fixed, but you should keep a note of your details you used as u dont want to b stuck with tht problem again!
