Great shots Chris, love the emotion in 3 and 4.
Santa Barbara is so funny, it won't rain for months then when it rains it is a torrental downpour that floods half the streets in town! Good thing you had the MkII!

Hey Chris,
I really REALLY like #'s 1 & 3. LOVE the composition of both those photographs especially. Hmm...I wonder how my 30D would survive that kind of rain. Hopefully I don't have to find out, hehe.

Wow...those are awesome...especially considering the circumstances. You're a brave soul, did you have any type of camera cover, or at least an umbrella?

SERIOUSLY! SB is actually one of the cities with the fewest number of rain days each year, but you're right when it rains it POURS! We actually really really needed the rain so I guess it was good!

Let me know next time your in town and I'll let you know if I have a shoot. You're more than welcome to come along!

I wrapped a plastic cover thing around my 70-200mm just to try to protect it a little, but it didn't help much!! The camera was SO soaked. You would have thought I dunked it in a tank of water!

It's a trooper though, looks like it's totally fine.

Yeah....I definetly didn't bring my 20D out in that weather.

Thanks Amy!

Honestly, I kinda wish I could do that sorta thing more often! Last year I had a wedding that was in the rain and now it's featured on my site. I love things that are out of the ordinary or unusual like that.
Here's a few shots from that wedding....

Excellent shots! I have been wanting to do a session like this ever since I saw Garrett's alley shots, but lately when it has rained it has been way too cold. Maybe in a few months...

Wow, Chris! That was a certifiable DELUGE!
Shots 3 and 4 are my favorites.
I once shot an entire football game in a total downpour. It was fun! And my old film camera -- the Canon 1N -- performed perfectly.
To dry it out, however, I put it into the OVEN. Worked like a charm. No kidding! Crazy stories from my newspaper photographer days!

Don't try this at home!

No camera damage that I can tell! I'm curious to see how it does coming up, but really it did just as well as Canon says it should!

Water was freezing as it always is in SB.

We were out there about 20 mins maybe....enough to get COMPLETELY drenched.

Oh my gosh! What temp did you set the oven to?! That's unreal!
I'm glad ya'll liked 'em!! There's always a bit of pressure with those kinds of shoots...if you don't come up with some pretty cool stuff, the client might be a bit annoyed!

I'm glad my clients trust me.
