Hello, I was curious if anyone from the forum here is attending the workshop in February? I signed up in Dec., just before discovering Open Source Forum but wondered about recs for lodging for the night, not too familiar with Santa Barbara. Plus it might be nice to meet up with anyone else going.

Looks like it's the same weekend as the OSP West which is a bit of a bummer since I'm new and craving for lots more learning & practice and it would be great to meet some local folks in the biz smile.gif Hopefully there will be some more West Coast events soon because the Husband & I are in LA and always looking for opportunities to improve.

I don't have an answer since I'm going to OSPW, but I just wanted to say welcome to OSP...it's a great place to learn.

I want to go just to talk with DJ, but its aa pain for me to get down there. Little did I know when I was attending Brooks that DJ and all the others here were so open and willing to share and make others better.

For hotels, theres a holiday inn in goleta thats pretty reasonably priced I believe.

You ahve a few towns you could stay in, from the North

Goleta
Santa Barbara
Montiecto
Summerland
Carpeteria

It sounded like a lot of fun last time he did it, and the price is unheard of. Brooks' normal tuition is about $200/hr, and you're getting 2 days with DJ for a little more than that.

Thanks for the info! I'll have to look into those areas, only been to SB once before driving through.

Yes, it's really neat that such great photographers out there are willing to share their knowledge with us. I'm planning on getting as much info as I can from it smile.gif Looks like Brooks has a lot of affordable workshops which is great for those operating on 'starter' budgets!
