I'm flying myself down to Santa Barbara tomorrow morning for an evening shoot. I may have a bit of time in the early afternoon and was wondering if there were any good camera shops in the area you guys liked?
A quick search found the following:
http://tinyurl.com/4yj5eWhat I'm going to be looking for is a flash sync cord (PC->1/8" mini) for a Visatec flash. No worries, I've got one that works but... it's just not super :-)

Definitely hit up Samy's Camera on the corner of Cota and *Chapala*. It's a block away from State St.
Calumet is awesome, but they don't stock as much of the small stuff as Samy's.

Thanks for the tip!
The weather never cleared so I ended up driving (errr... flying really really low?) instead. Rolled in to the banquet facility about an hour before show time (Fess Parker Double Tree), double checked start time then headed back to State Street. On my way I called on of the shops, they didn't have it, and found Calumet first. Folks there were very helpful and had a cable that worked perfectly! I flew back out the door, sped down random streets in a town I'd never driven through before, and was back with 10 minutes to spair :-)
I do need to head back down here to SB and spend some time, seemed like a great town, next time I'll have to think ahead and ask for some church recommendations as well! As for today it'll probably be the free continental breakfast (Hotel Santa Barbara) then driving home. Would have been such a nice flight :-( *sigh*

Hey Dan!
I'm bummed we missed you in SB and next time definitely hang for the weekend! Our place is about 20 yards from Calumet so you were right there!
A minor correction about Samy's - it's on Cota and Chapala...I'll edit that other post. It is the best cameras store around but its nickname is "Scamy's" because it's a training ground for used car salesman so beware...
That's so fun that you can just fly yourself around like that (in the air and on the ground)!
Cheers!
