I shot my 2nd Newborn portrait session (all by myself!) this week. Baby Caleb was born on Christmas Eve and mom and dad are just in love with him.

I managed to get more good shots this time, though I need to work more with the camera to feel confident in my skills.

I learned something with this baby - remind parents to not mess with the schedule and take baby to church and then out and about, letting him sleep for HOURS just before the session! Baby was not happy unless he was nursing and mom and dad were sleepy.

Since he was nursing for a lot of the session, the slideshow contains a number of breastfeeding pictures. Including one of that "filled up and happy" end of the feeding smile (which as a lactation consultant I LOVE to see!)

That third image is great!!! I would love to see these with a bit more contrast! Just a quickie curves adjustment would probably do it!

After trying to do photography for the first time I have a new appreciation for what it takes.... Great job, love photo number 2.
