At 8:40 this morning we took off for our trip to Paris and it's so nice to go to the airport and not have delays or flight cancellations. I actually get a bit tense when trips get lined up back to back and it's amazing how everything always works out.
On to the fun stuff...well...I thought about how I was gonna explain this and I really didn't have any clue so I tried to tell the story in this video. It really is as crazy as it sounds.
I know that many people have pre-conceived ideas as to what these sort of situations involve and that was my biggest hold-up but those of you who've traveled with me know that who I am and what I believe doesn't change based on the situations I'm in so I'm excited for us all to live this crazy random adventure together!

WOW! That's like a blind date on steroids! Prayers going up for all parties involved! What a fun exciting experience! Since she's a Westmont Girl, that's a BIG plus (Pepperdine would have been better, but whatevah!)
Looking forward to seeing pics & video!

I was just about to say the same. So sweet of you to share your plan with the rest of us and I think I can smell a bit of love in the air. Well there is no better place to go then Paris for that!! Enjoy, and enjoy!!! You said she is a dancer, well two artists makes a great match! (I am married to a musican and it works out very well!!!). Have a ball and you must keep us posted, since you already have spilled the beans on this one.

I love Paris and have an apartment available to me there thanks to some wonderfiul client friends. I go as often as I can.
Having said that though and having gone solo and not solo I can say that Paris is meant to be shared. The wonder of the city is so much better of an experience when you have someone to share it with.
Have a wondeful time DJ. Take some incredible pictures which I am sure you will. Paris comes alive late at night so make sure to experience that and take your camera and a fast lene.
Rick
PS. Be careful. There are a lot of thieves that prey on tourists. You could be approached by a group of really cute kids. While the cuties surround you and make like friends theiir buddies will be behind you picking your pocket or cutting your camera strap and running away. On the Metro these folks work in teams; one will distract you while the other uses a box cutter to slice your back pocket and grab your wallet. You'll never feel a thing. When I walk around I keep my wallet and cash in my front pockets, wear a long coat that has ties on the bottom and keep my camera inside my coat.

Exciting and cool of you to post that! I gotta tell you something, DJ...
I'm going to Paris (etc) in April for my first time. I'm going with my girlfriend, Kellye. We've been planning the trip and talking to a few others about it for advice. One thing that is of great importance is that people who know we're going together know that everything will be above reproach.
I love: "what I believe doesn't change based on the situations I'm in". This is going to be crucial on your trip...and mine. Your story is an inspiration for me in that way and I appreciate you sharing. I'd love to hear more and will pray that your time is amazing, beautiful, and a way to glorify God.
Yer the man! -Eddie

I finally saw the video. That's so awesome!! Geesh, why don't I have guys whisking me off to Paris? The closest I've gotten to romance and Paris was my ex who bought me perfume and flowers when there, but then they got stolen on the train back to London.

Hey DJ -
Go eat at 7-Sud over by the Rue Cler - a fantastic restaurant.
Be sure to call ahead for reservations. Not fancy - but good grub, and a great modern French experience!
