Full Version: yes another logo ???

orangecat
I have a logo that I really love, the problem is incorporating the name of my business. I have tried and tried, but I am just stuck. I am hoping that someone looking at it with fresh eyes could help. Below is the logo with the two colors I want to use. I thought about making the cat gray and "Orange Cat Photography" over it...but I just can't find a font that I like. It should definately be sans serif, though. Is there anyone that wants to tackle this?!

Dana - I'll be happy to play a bit with it this evening. I'm off to an aerobics class (my attempt to get in shape this semester!), but will play a bit when I get back.

Do you want the text straight at the top, do you want it to flow with the cat, any other preferences? Plain font, scripty - I know you said sans serif....any other ideas? Or should I just play? smile.gif

Just play...I thought I wanted the letters straight across with Orange Cat on top and Photography on bottom spaced so that both lines are the same length. I thought Orange Cat could be scripty while Photography is plain. I don't know, though!!! blink.gif

Like I said, I am stuck!

Have fun at aerobics!

Why not just add a line to the other side and make that the "O" in Orange?

Oh, and pm me if you're coming to photo night next Tuesday or the Buissink thing in Charlotte in a couple of weeks.

A few quick ideas on fonts, and a couple of placement ideas.....not sure if any of them fit what you're going for, but...well, anyway, this is my i-have-more-reading-to-do-but-needed-a-break time.

AAWWW...I asked for another orange cat since my mom has kidnapped mine! (She kept him while we lived in Sweden and will not let me have him back!) But I didn't get one. I am hoping to get one in the spring.

And thanks Kaitlin! Those are great! I am still trying to figure out the one I like the best!
kaitlin
No problem Dana - I threw those together - if you don't like them, no worries wink.gif I'll be happy to send you the fonts if you want to play around or whatever.

Dana,

I really like the placement in #1 and wonder what it would look like with the font in #3 maybe less bold. I love how Kaitlin put the C right in the curve of the cat. Very cool.

Without reading all the replies I picked 1 and 3 as well! The orange cat is just delightful - what IS the story.

That cat graphic, which is quite nice, could actually be worked to replace the "g" in "Orange" with very little effort. It almost looks like a "g" already.

I thought the same thing when I was playing around with it...my artistic talent is not in that area though...
orangecat
Kaitlin...great job! After looking and them and looking at them I think the first is my favorite...I really like that font! Can you send it to me?

Alot of you have asked about the story behind the Orange Cat....well...

His name is Chester. It was just before I got married, so I didn't want to use my name because it was about to change....my new name is too hard for people. So I am sitting in front of my computer brainstorming ideas and Chester is sitting with me looking at me and it hit me. And it just fell together. I immediately had an idea for a logo...which is what you see now. And it has been such an easy name for people to remember. Chester is still doing well...just very fat. I think he weighs 16 lbs now!
