Heya!

So, Phil and I hope to be taking three cameras, a laptop, and 4-6 lenses to Antigua the first week of March for a wedding there. We are (of course) flying, and I've heard some horror stories about cameras being prohibited from flights recently. wacko.gif

In the past when we flew internationally, we just brought all of our camera equiment as carry-ons... is this still allowed?

not that you haven't already thought of it, but just call the airlines or just check this link out

Although I'm still surprised that you can't bring "Nunchakus" on board.

Cameras not allowed onboard, what?!?! Oh, if that's the case, I'm going to be in a lot of trouble because I refuse to check this stuff!!!

Camera Equipment - the checked baggage screening equipment will damage undeveloped film in camera equipment. We recommend that you either put undeveloped film and cameras containing undeveloped film in your carry-on baggage or take undeveloped film with you to the checkpoint and ask the screener to conduct a hand-inspection. (See below)
Allowed Carry On Yes
Allowed Checked Yes

Also, you should know, if you're using film, you can request it be hand-scanned instead of going through the x-ray machines. Sometimes they will balk at this if you're not using high-speed, but when I did all-film, I was never ever ever comfortable with any x-ray stuff on it (the machines aren't always calibrated the same, so you never know, really), and just had it all ready for them to hand-scan or whatever they needed to do.

I would check with your airline, too.
