I am trapped. On my way to San Antonio I flew through Denver and it was very cold. I've never felt weather that cold and so I knew that something was wrong.
Then once I got to Texas the arctic blast really hit and now there are 18,000 people here without power and people are sleeping in their cars because they can't find hotels. The airports have been closed and all the flights got cancelled.
The schools are closed - all the restaurants are closed, the roads and airport are closed.
But it is kinda cool because I get to see my friend Megan on TV. She is the weather girl here in San Antonio. We went to college together and worked on all sorts of photo and video projects before she moved to Texas. I'm so proud of her. She was someone who really inspired me and encouraged me to go after my dreams.

Good to hear you're safe. The weather around Canada and the USA has been nothing short of WEIRD as of late. Our temperature went from around the freezing mark, to the temperature of Antarctica in summer in a day... east side of both countries getting slammed with freezing rain, huge amounts of snow, and it just won't stop...
I wish spring would come sooner the later.
Keep warm!!

Ooh DJ, hope you're not stranded too long! On our Christmas trip to Seattle we were without power for 3 of the 6 days (we got there on the tail end). What do you do at 5pm when there is no light or electronics (go to bed under 5 quilts)? We are a spoiled people these days, maybe this is a wake-up call to get our acts together

Hope you thaw out quickly. My thinned-out Southern blood is dreading the drop in temperature they're calling for in not-so-Hotlanta tonight. Brrrrr...
Everybody stay warm!

DJ,
Come back sometime in August - that'll be more of what Texas is known for.
It was great to meet and hang out at RIO RIO. Ryan, Melanie, and I all had a great time. That is just one more reason that OSP rocks - It brings people together.

Hey Gang,
Cindy and I are sticking around an extra day here due to the weather as well.
Some great news, we just got another call from a bride-to-be who wants to meet with us as soon as we get back. She saw our website, loves our work, and has to have us.
We're looking forward to getting back on the highway back to Alabama first thing tomorrow.
We hope everyone has safe travel back to wherever they call home.

That's Texas, we get a little poor winter weather and we close up everything! I love living here---just wait, it will change fast. We get about 2 days of this per year and they are on the news all day showing the icy conditions and sad little "snow"men (really sleet-men).

Hey Kristin,
Its like that in Alabama, too. Mention the word "Snow" and they do everything short of calling out the National Guard.
The grocery stores love it though. People panic and grab everything under the sun to prepare for the worst.
