get people to look at your blog??? Aside from sending brides links to their slideshows, etc. on your blog, how do you get people to look at it? Or does it matter if they see it or not? I'm in a bit of a dry spell photo session wise, so I don't have any new pics to post, and I don't feel like just posting the super cute pictures of my kids in the tub will do any good. My blog is weird. Some days 40 people look at it, and other days there will be two. So, do I need to buy that creating customer evangalist book finally or what??? My urchin stats have been down since before Christmas (and I'm beginning to think they'll never work again) so the only stats I can look at are for my blog and I've been obsessing over it.

Do you send emails out to every address you've ever been given linking them to your blog when you post something new?

How do people find out you have a blog?

Mine is linked to my website, but nobody looks at it. Do I need to give it a really cool name on my website? Make it NOT pop up in a new window so people with pop up blockers will still see it?

Forget about it because it isn't that important?

Forget about it because I don't have anything good on there anyway??

Just wondering. smile.gif

yes it will, that's exactly the kind of things potential customers will see and go "awww" what a cute family etc...

If you don't have any shoots to post, find things to talk about that will interest your market. Write an article about weddings, anything, keep it fun. Tell a funny story.

I'm really the worst person to be giving this advice, i'm a terrible blogcrastinator.

Just my 2 cents...

* Post more than just your photos. Do you have a favorite poem or quote? Post it and maybe post your thoughts or why you love it. Did you have a fun adventure with the family? Post about more than just photography! Clients love it and they love getting to know more about you and not just your photos wink.gif

* I post it everywhere. The signature lines in my emails includes my name, my web address, and my blog address

* Send your family and friends there!

Also, whenever possible, includes backlinks and tags for local vendors in your area when talking about your work. You'll be surprised how many people will google "______ florist" and end up at your blog.
