Last year, I posted a bridal shoot from New Orleans. Sandra noticed one of the locations we shot at and e-mailed a great tip to me. She told me about a gorgeous red room located upstairs in the resturant where my shot was taken. She also told me that the owners rent the room out for photo sessions. Ater she sent a few samples my way- I couldn't wait to book another New Orleans bride. I was finally able to shoot there yesterday. The room is called the "Seance Room"- do you see any ghosts in the pictures?

Thanks for the tip Sandra!

I think I know this location! I've only ever been to NO once, but this looks soooo familiar! Care to share the name so I can see if I'm right? smile.gif

Thanks Candy and Louis- (I like # 4 too. Thanks to Gino's DVD's, I'm always looking for something to "stack").

Thanks. One photogenic monolight/ umbrella off to the side. Occasionally, I slaved the 580ex as a kicker. The ceiling was black, and the walls were red or brick- so I couldn't bounce. I rarely ever use my photogenic's, but I knew I would have to for this shoot.

Cris- the courtyard was at some hotel, I don't remember the name of it. But it's right next to Jackson Square and Muriel's resturant (where the rest of the shots were taken). The hotel was kind enough to let us use their courtyard for 30 minutes.

Muriel's didn't want to let us use the room at first. They said they stopped renting it out after Katrina. The groom switched their rehearsal dinner to the resturant for a nice $6k- $7k fee, then they became a little more accomodating. laughing.gif

I don't think that's the place I was thinking of. The place I'm thinking of is a few blocks away from Jackson Square, but that archway is very similar.

That's awesome that you got to shoot there! Props to the B&G for getting them to be more accomodating! smile.gif

Spooky pretty! GORGEOUS! If I had taken those pictures (trust me, I couldn't yet, someday though) and my bride was fun (had a good raport) then I'd slightly photoshop a friendly ghost tastfully somewhere on 1 image for fun - wouldn't that be a kick? heeheehee

I love one and two. Great light. Beautiful room.

YAY! Well done! Very well done. I'm glad you got the chance to shoot there. You lighting is incredible too as I know how dark it is inside. I love the ones through the bars.

I saw a book by Brian Crain - (who is an incredible photographer out of Baton Rouge) at PPA today. I think it was at the Albums Unlimited booth? Anyway, it featured one of his shoots at the séance room too.

I think the owner is pulling your leg though because I've rented it three times since Katrina :-). Once for a bands photos.Oh well, don't tell your clients that. They'll have a nice rehearsal dinner as the food there is WONDERFUL.

I have a wedding in Nola next December and the bride is having her rehearsal dinner there too - and she wants to do bridals in the séance room - so I'm stoked. She's also by far one of my favorer clients next year. It really give me something to look forward too.

Gorgeous!! She really stands out

This bride is fantastic - I love the soft, unassuming look on her face in every photo (like a Prada model). Or maybe you just directed her well. thumbsup.gif These are truly stunning, and very inspiring.

These shots are very good! I am very impressed!

Hope to see you soon!

Thanks- I had a feeling the owner was pulling our leg. After all, we just walked off the street while shooting their engagement shots and asked- I'm sure she may have been taken off guard. Oh well, I'm looking forward to a nice meal there. Thanks again for the tip- and thanks everyone, your comments are appreciated.

Too funny- "Prada Model".... I laughed when I read that because we took these on their engagement shoot: laughing.gif
