I was down at Border's tonight checking out the latest and greatest from the big dogs and as I was looking through some pictures I was noticing a really wonderful and unique look that I really like! ... and I kid you not my phone rang while I was there and Forest (our Nitorix mastermind) called me and told me about his newest creation! Hardly being able to contain myself I ran out of the store (not really) but I should have because this is the coolest thing ever!

You gotta check this out! It's called "Lomo" or something crazy like that! I love it!

Sweet....exactly what does it do? It just looks kinda like a levels/curves/saturation boost is that right or is there more to it?

Do current Nitroix users get upgrades to these new creations???

Chris --- Looking at it... that's what it looks like it does to me too (plays with the levels, curves, etc)...

DJ --- This looks like a sweet addition to Nitorix!!! I will definitely be picking up that little gem of a program!

hmmmmm..... all good questions! smile.gif

I really don't know! I know there's a slight vignette to it which I really like!

Mr. Nitorix???

DJ -

Glad you liked the effect. I thought it was pretty cool when I saw it too. The Lomo effect creates saturated images with vignettes.

The "Lomo Effect" is naturally created by the Lomo camera, but as we all know with a little Photoshop magic your Mark II or 20D can produce the Lomo effect as well.

The Lomo camera is produced in St. Petersburg, Russia. Its brand-name "Lomo" comes from "Leningradskoje optiko mechanitscheskoje objedinenije", which translated means "Leningrad optic-mechanic Union".

I would expect that Nitorix would sell the upgrades and offer bug fixes and stuff like that for free. That's the way most programs work so I'm sure this will be no different.
