Hopefully none of you ever need to read this forum and I'm far too prideful to tell you why I had to research this topic, but if the unfortunate situation ever arises that you need to recover some data from a formatted drive or CF card I found this little app to do a pretty nice job. It ran me $40 and it recovered enough info from the wedding that I needed (after 1 reformat) and it also brought up images from my 2 previous weddings (3 reformats ago!!!). It didn't recover everything but enough to keep my legs from getting chopped off!

Also, if you purchase Lexar media, it comes with a data recovery device as well as software. No need to use it yet ... hope I never will.
