I'm thinking about getting an ad at myseattlewedding.com. I know there are lots of different sites from MyWedding.com in various regions. Have you advertised with them? How did you like it, if so?

I really like the organization of the site. It's so easy to use and search - unlike many cluttered-up wedding resource pages I've seen. Your opinion is much appreciated!

I have an ad with MyPhoenixWedding, as do many area photographers. I get a lot of visits to my website from there, and a number of inquiries, but have not booked any of them. I think, as with most advertising, that you get mostly price shoppers and lower end couples. I did my homework before signing on, asking several other shooters who were on the site if it was helping them. Most said no, some were getting a few bookings. I figured, for the price (they gave me a great deal to sign on), I would try them out. I have since raised my prices significantly, so I don't think they will be useful to me anymore.

But I also believe that it depends on the region and your specific market. I recommend doing your homework in your area.

i was on the portland site for about 1.5 years, when it first launched it was great and did get some bookings from it. i'm not in it anymore because it is so saturated in the photog area and i wasn't getting anything from it. they just keep adding folks to it and don't seem to concerned about quality...too bad.

Alexis,
How do you advertise now?
