I was just wondering if its something I’m over looking in the manual but does anyone else have the problem of the 20D saving files in two different folders on the CF card.
Its not a huge deal just a nuisance.

haven't had that problem....what system are you using (mac or PC)

The times I've seen this happen on any camera I've shot with, not just the 20d, is when the card has been removed and placed back in, and I think maybe when the battery has been run all the way to dead until the camera turns off because of lack of power... And I think the removing card one is even more prone if the camera is on when you remove the card and place it back inside.
Do you format your card every time you shoot? Or just erase the card?

I could be wrong but I think the 20d uses the same file saving system as the 10d, thus saving images in batches of 100 - sorted by number - not actual amount. So if you delete a few in camera you may only have 90 in one folder and 100 in the next but that may be what's going on.

...I like your Avator! wink.gif

Thanks all.. It was removing the card and placing it back in.
I will format from now on.

Its all fun and games till he gets into my real equipment. LOL
