I thought I had seen this question dealt with in a previous thread but I haven't had any luck finding it thus far.

I have a client that wants me to create a ShowIt show using only their submitted photos. Have any of you done this and if so do you have a pricing scheme?

Dave -- this doesn't really answer your question -- but currently, ShowIt is not able to be reproduced onto DVDs and such (unless I have missed something). I think a few people have been able to use MovieCapture to get a version of it, but overall -- I think it is not possible, yet (it's coming).

Anyway, when it does happen that I can do it on my own -- I think a general charge will be less than $100. I am interested to see what others say about this.

several questions:

will you be hosting it on your server?
how much do you want to make an hour?
how long will it take you to make?

and most importantly....

do you stand to make other moola from these people by shooting portraits or weddings for them??


if the answer to the last question is yes....then charge like $25 or something cheap and make sure to have a "slideshow composed by Dave Higginbotham" slide at the end and a link to your site somewhere

if not, just figure out how much it costs you for music & hosting and the time to make it, and charge a base fee + per photo or something. maybe have a contract saying how many revisions they are allowed, and exactly how the slideshow will be delivered, and if you're hosting for how long.
