Yesterday I had the opportunity to photograph my nephew who is 2 weeks old. We did not get all the shots I wanted as he really did not want to cooperate with us and really wanted to be wrapped up and on mom's chest.

I'm learning that photographing infants is a bit more tricky than helping them (and their mothers) learn to breastfeed (my day job) but it sure is as rewarding.

My friend Brandi uses a warm rice bag underneath the baby's blanket to lull them to sleep andthen she starts shooting. I haven't tried that yet but will get the chance to very soon!

Nice trick Michelle! We will have to try that. Its pretty hard when they are only a few days old. I imagine on our next try in a couple of weeks, Gabe will be a little more together in his movements.

I have another shoot this weekend with another 2 week old so I will try the warm packs and see how they do.
