for those of you that are in one market and want or have expanded into another market do you have one site for all or a dedicated site for both areas. I am not talking about if you want to do general destination coverage wherever but you want to travel to a specific area (perhaps a state or even a city) to build up a market there in addition to your home base....did I make sense?

Good question...I'm gonna move it to marketing because I think it's a great discussion to have. It has always amazed me that people are still somewhat prone to hire a local photographer until they're hiring for "show" then it's better to bring in an outta towner.

Specialists always beat generalists.

I've focused on particular types of photography, not regions. But focusing usually is a good thing if the numbers are there to support it.

I have numerous sites for each region where I like to work. People seem to feel more comfortable when they know you are experienced in their area, despite how little geography changes the job

I can't wait to see this thread progress...I want to eventually expand to work both in the Seattle area and on the Oregon Coast for destination weddings. I've been wondering about this topic for some time!
