So, I was out taking senior pictures of one of my best friends today and we decided to do things a little bit different. Inspired by Beckstead's post about breaking rules i decided i was going to break some myself. the basic rules of posing got thrown out of the window for a lot of these. However i was getting paid for it so i made sure to get the safe, "mother approved" shots as well. Check em out.

1: safe nice mother approved shot

2: Another mom shot

3: I shot this from above to emphasize his face. in post i bumped up the shadow and added a massive vignette to pop the red and to draw attention to the face.

4: kinda fun, but not as happy with the results

5: similar to shot number 3

6: this shot is really cool to me, there is something about this shot that really draws you into his left eye. I knew that when i shot it there was going to be massive distortion on his nose. As you can see it is huge. However i also knew that the now slanted lines created by the slats of the fence behind him and lines on his shirt would draw even more emphasis to his eye which was the focus. I think it worked nicely

7: Stud

Let me know what you guys think.

3 and 5 are my favorites, by far. The others dont have much that pull me in to make me want to look at the image any longer. The others have a dynamic nature to them that rules.

Go with that style, man. I love it!
