Hello all,

A bride called me a couple days ago. We chatted for a while, and she asked if we offered albums with one of the photographs we take, rendered as a hologram, as the cover. She had said that another studio was offering the product.

Eeeew! smile.gif

Anyway, has anyone seen this product? The mighty Google™ reveals nothing.

I'm thinking it must be pretty funny lookin', but if that's what she wants....

Thanks,

That would be really cool smile.gif

I made a few holograms at optical engineering school before I dropped out, they are really interesting! The type I made wouldn't be too practical for duplicating a live object, though... super-long exposures with a laser

I've seen them as business cards and they are cool....but a Wedding Cover......
yuky...
J*I*L*L HIGGINS
sounds horrible...

Maybe I made better holograms than what you guys have seen, they aren't those cheap chinese dinosaur sticker things, they are awesome full-3d representations. I don't think it will come across well if I take a picture of it so if you meet me in person I'll show you some smile.gif

I have not seen it, but I am sure they can do it with acrylic covers.
Kind of like to holographic cubes and standout photos at the mall.

It wouldn't look bad if done right.

OK, just to clarify, I spoke with them, it's a holographic photo as a cover cameo. I guess I just need to find a company that can make a hologram out of a JPEG.

Anyone? smile.gif

You can't make a hologram from a 2D picture. (Though I guess there might be a way to computer generate one from a stereoscopic pair.)

Are you sure she's not talking about a lenticular print? Those can be made from a series of 2D pictures.

Update #2: It now sounds like it's an etched aluminum cameo. I've seen covers that are entirely etched aluminum; has anyone seen an aluminum cameo in a leather cover?
