This is one HP technology that I may actually buy. Lightscribe allows you to burn a CD or DVD, flip it over, then the same laser that burned the data to your disc actually etches your "photo-quality" image into a coating on the surface of the disc. The bottom line is that you end up with a professional-looking (and cool-looking) product for your clients. Pretty neat, huh?

LaCie has adopted this technology into an external CD/DVD recorder. I found one for $114 on TechOnWeb.com. Has anyone ever had any experience ordering from them?

Of course, this means you'll need special new CDs too. You won't be finding these for "free after rebate" any time soon. Currently, the cheapest I've found is $19 for 30 at the same place. That's not too bad. Waiting for rebate checks is a real bummer anyways.

That's sweet! Do you know how much DVD's are?

I don't know, man . . . I can't find them anywhere.

I don't think that the burners and the CD media are availalbe for purchase yet either.

Hopefully they'll be in stores soon . . . I can't wait to get one!

I found the Lightscribe CDs made by Verbatim at Best Buy. Forgot the price, but they weren't too expensive. The only thing was they were CD-R only, not DVD.
