A friend of mine asked me today for recommendations on ongoing lighting classes or special workshops in the Chicago area, and I wasn't sure what to tell her. She knows about Neil Cowley's workshop (which I'm very excited about!), but I'm not sure it fits her schedule.

Any suggestions?

Hi Emily,

Will you be at the workshop next week?
Neil Cowley
Yes she is! I look forward to meeting you Emily.

The Northern Illinois PPA chapter seems to have a good set of programs through the spring. You should assess how you learn best, reading, doing, talking about it? There are some great groups on the net to get you some assignments and then group critiques.

Of course, she's welcome to come next week. The photoshop class on Saturday morning will be free for everyone.

As you already know, I will indeed be there!! smile.gif

Neil, I checked out Northern IL PPA's site and it looks like their events are only for members.

I think my friend was specifically looking for workshops with hands-on teaching of lighting. I'm open to any other suggestions!
