I just bought Noiseware pro plugin for Photoshop - I love this little piece of software - gives me so many options for reducing noise from low-light images that didn't quite come out clean. It's the best one I've seen so far. Just thought I'd share that... rolleyes.gif

Do you have any examples of before and after images?
Chris Humphreys

How much was that software?

Here is a sample before and after (filtered with Noisewar default settings)

And it was $79 for both the standalone and plugin versions. But if you buy only the PS plugin it's $69.

I just upgraded from PS 7 to CS, and the same noiseware plugin works noticeably better in CS. Am I just imagining this or is it true and there's some sort of valid explanation?

I use NoiseNinja for all my Noise Removal. It batches and I can walk away and do other things while it is working it's magic. I specifically run all my files through it if they are 400ISO and up.

Oh, one note: The Customer service is fabulous. I had a problem w/ them on a recent install and they responded within the hour if I remember correctly. AND a phone call to my cell on top of that. wink.gif

I can't help but wonder.... Do these types of software not make the images softer?
Chris Humphreys

I was just notcing that looking at Grace's examples. Both of them seem a tad softer, particularly around the edges.

Grace what do you think? Have you noticed this?
ThomasAlan
WOW! They may be a tad softer but are still great improvements on the before image. Thanks for sharing.

I looked at the examples but the after shots seem to have some really hard edges. Almost glowing.

As always... they are probably great tools... but no magic bullet.

I find Modification of the image is acceptable in terms of softening
with files shot at 400and ^, which would otherwise contain noise. The bottom two squares were examples of textured areas where were simplified but remained true to the original file- to my tastes.
You can tone down the painterly effect- I believe I have it set above the standard.

Here are also some links with noiseware product reviews from a site that I find highly credible:
